It is with a great deal of sadness that Beth and I announce to our volunteer community, the passing on August 25 of Victoria Elizabeth (“Vicki”) Winkle, our neighbor, dear friend, photographer and supporter of Tulsa Quilts for Kids. As a neighbor she had an extraordinary talent for growing fresh herbs, fruits and flowers. . . and took great delight in the beauty of pansies which were her favorite! Whenever anyone had a problem with a particular plant, she knew exactly what the plant was lacking and made the appropriate diagnosis and recommendation. She was always right!

As a recent liver transplant recipient, she valued life and saw beauty in everything around her. During her surgical recuperation period, she developed a fondness for photography and attained a high degree of excellence. Also during this time, she was blessed with a granddaughter who provided her with endless hours of happiness, love and joy.

Vicki did not have the stamina to make a quilt but as a supporter she was delighted to attend the “unveiling” of our work room as well as a recent workshop to take photos for inclusion on our web site.

We will greatly miss our dear friend along with her unique sense of humor and laughter. She brought joy into the lives of many and we consider ourselves fortunate not only to have become close friends, but also to have her photos in the form of a lasting memory which we will be posting to our website over the next few months.

With our blessings to each of you,

Sharon Bethel and Beth McDaniel
